We are officially closed for Summer Break! Mr. Wheelock looks forward to seeing everyone back next school year!
Please mark your calendars! On Tuesday, February 25th, we will be hosting our Pre-UIL Choir Concert at the Cedar Hill ISD Performing Arts Center at Cedar Hill High School. This concert will serve as a final preparation for students to receive valuable feedback before we go to our UIL Contest in March.
The concert will take place at 6:30 PM, with a student call time of 6 PM. Students will wear their formal choir uniform.
Please remember that this concert counts as a DOUBLE TEST GRADE for all students.*
The 6th Grade Girls Choir (2nd Period) is not participating in this performance and is instead performing in the Black History Month Program below.
*a make-up project will be available for students who are unable to attend the performance. Please note that this make-up project is a lengthy assignment that will take time to complete.
WHO: 6th Grade Girls Choir (2nd Period)
WHERE: Bessie Coleman MS
WHEN: Thursday, Feb. 27th @ 6 - 8 PM
INFO: Students will stay after school until the program. Pizza will be provided for the students. Students should bring black pants and a black t-shirt as their uniform for the event.
After School Rehearsal: Wednesday, Feb. 26th (4:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
Attention All Female 7th/8th Grade Choir Students:
The Choir Dresses have been cleaned and are ready for pick-up before or after school. All female students performing in the Pre-UIL Choir Concert will need a choir dress. (6th Grade Girls do not need a dress at this time)
Students can pick-up their dress from the choir room before school, after school, or during 1st, 5th, or 8th period. There will NOT be time for students to try on dresses during their choir class period.
All Choir Students are required to pay a supply fee of $20 as part of their membership of the BCMS Choir Program. This modest fee helps to offset the cost incurred by the choir program for supplies and services for each student. This fee also covers the cost of the choir t-shirt.
This fee is tracked in your student's CutTime account, and can be paid in Cash or online at MyPaymentsPlus. (Please note that MyPaymentsPlus payments may not be available until the spring semester.)
If you have additional questions or concerns regarding the choir fee, please email Mr. Wheelock at christopher.wheelock@chisd.net
The 7th/8th Grade Female Choir students will be soon leaving for a field trip on Tuesday, March 4th to attend the annual UIL Concert/Sight-Reading event. This trip will take place during the school day and have students returned to school right at the end of normal school hours. A permission slip and detailed itinerary wil be sent home this week.
*Please note that some students may not be permitted to attend this event due to their behavior/preparation in class rehearsals.
On Thursday, March 6th, our choir will be performing as a part of BIG ART DAY at BCMS. Students should plan on wearing their choir t-shirt and staying after school until the performance. Pizza will be provided.
More information will be shared prior to the event.
