A large group of our Year Eleven students attended Generation Hertford at The Beam. The event, organised by Hertfordshire Futures, highlighted a varied range of job opportunities and gave our young people an insight into local employers, colleges and universities. This is the second year that our students have had the benefit of attending, and again, students were a credit to our school, engaging in meaningful conversations with all the employers.

Mock Interview Day is one of the most important days in the Chauncy calendar, as our Year Eleven students have been busy preparing themselves over the half-term, learning about the job application process, creating their own CVs and letters of application and exploring interview tips and techniques that will help them secure their dream careers. On Friday, they met a team of local professionals who volunteered to provide a formal interview and feedback afterwards on how they could improve their interview technique. Many thanks to the 43 interviewers who gave up their time to help our students on Friday. Well done to all the Year Eleven students who prepared well and gave an excellent impression of themselves. I would also like to thank the Chauncy staff who planned and coordinated this essential and highly successful event. Well done!

Last week, some of our Year 11 students visited Nazeing for an exciting plumbing workshop, giving them a real insight into a career in plumbing. They even got stuck in themselves, having a go at pipe bending and soldering. It was especially great to see our Chauncy alumni there, sharing their skills and experiences with the students. A huge thank you to everyone who led the workshop and made it such a valuable and memorable experience for our students.
