Date: April 6-7, 2017
Venue: Expo Hotel, Barcelona, Spain
The program for the two-day Data Management Task Force (DMTF) 2017 meeting was tailored to provide cross-learning opportunities and agreement on activities to enhance and ease data management and interoperability across CGIAR, and enable the Big Data Platform to achieve its goals. The meeting was organized by Medha Devare with facilitation by Tonya Schuetz, and brought together 18 representatives from CGIAR Centers and CGIAR Research Programs, 2 from the Independent Evaluation Arrangement (IEA) and 1 from the CLIPNet Community of Practice. The group also included a non-CGIAR faculty member from the Griffith Law School in Australia who wanted to learn from CGIAR’s approach to implementing Open Access and Open Data. Making good on the DMTF member vote in 2016, the annual meeting was organized directly after the Research Data Alliance (RDA) and associated Interest Group on Agricultural Data (IGAD) meetings to enable CGIAR data managers to attend and benefit from RDA (3-5 April 2017).
