Students sometimes worry about how to write the 500-word personal statement we ask for in the application. Perhaps this is because they are thinking of college essays. We do not expect a college essay.
We want a simple, personal statement, one in which the applicants tell us why they would like to attend, what interests them about the courses they hope to study, and what they feel they can contribute to the program. They can also throw in a few words about their academic and extracurricular interests, and anything else that will help us to get to know them, and the job is done. The statement does not need to read like a great work of literature. It is the content that matters, as that helps us get to know the students and plan their time with us.
If students are admitted, we often share these personal statements with faculty so that they are able to learn more about their students before meeting them. And in the case that students have particular interests within their chosen study subjects, tailor the curriculum to those interests.
If you are worried about the statement, or feel you need more information about the programs that interest you, call us on +1-212-932-3049, or email us. Alternatively, join one of our forthcoming online information sessions:

HEALTH & SECURITY
At Oxbridge Academic Programs, we prioritize health and security so students can focus on discovering the world. A few things we do to keep students safe:
Arrival & Departure: From the moment students land, our team will greet them at the airport and ensure a smooth start to their journey. At the program’s end, we’ll be there to help with a safe departure.
24/7 Supervision: Our secure residences boast round-the-clock security and are overseen by experienced, live-in Directors and Deans. While students have the freedom to go out and explore, they have access to support and guidance when needed.
Medical Support: Each program includes residential Medical Officers and easy access to top-notch medical facilities. Plus, through our parent organization, WorldStrides, we offer 24/7 phone consultations with U.S.-based doctors.
Zero-Tolerance Policy: Student safety is paramount. Our strict behavior contract and zero drug or alcohol policy ensure a safe environment for all participants.
Curfews & Free Time: Rules about exploring the cities vary from program to program. Generally, students are free to explore in groups without adult supervision during their free time, while abiding by structured curfews and guidelines.

Oxbridge very much has the philosophy that students learn by doing. Medical Science students participate in dissections, Fashion students construct garments from scratch, and Engineering students build bridges with popsicle sticks. But this philosophy is perhaps most relevant to language learning.
If you’ve ever suspected that staring at conjugation charts and practicing vocabulary word flashcards is not the most efficient way to learn a language, you’d be right. Instead, here at Oxbridge, we have students learn a language by immersing themselves in it. Taking classes like international relations or culture and cuisine in Spanish, or art history in French, students learn the language in the context of their interests and passions.
Immersion enables students to learn a language more quickly through consistent exposure and keeps them motivated and engaged by allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. This method both enhances fluency and deepens cultural understanding.
Oxbridge students leap ahead in their language learning with immersion, gaining the skills and confidence to excel in both their academic and personal lives.
