UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON
As we look forward to spring, I’m sure graduation and post-high school plans are top of mind for your senior students and their families. To help you prepare students interested in the University of Dayton for a successful transition to college, this month I’ll share a new tool for checking how previously earned college credits will apply toward a UD degree. I’m also pleased to highlight our commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
We were excited to welcome our newest Flyers to Admitted Student Day on March 2. It was a great day for students and families to explore campus, connect with faculty and staff in our academic programs, and learn about their next steps at UD. We hope to see admitted students who couldn’t attend at our next Admitted Student Day on March 30.
Please keep these important dates in mind as you help guide students through the college admission process. It’s not too late to apply for admission to UD this fall. If your students are considering UD, please encourage them to reach out to us and apply for free as soon as possible for full consideration of admission and financial aid opportunities.
If students or families have any questions as they review their personalized financial aid offers, please encourage them to contact our admission team or schedule a virtual appointment with the student’s UD admission counselor.

In 1974, James Buller founded the Native Theatre School. His vision was to create a viable, respectful and supportive space for Indigenous theatre and performing artists. From humble beginnings, what began as a stand-alone, four-week program, in time, grew to become the Centre for Indigenous Theatre (CIT), an institution offering a unique Indigenous cultural, theatre and performance training program.
Are you wondering what it’s like to go from a small-town high school to a big university? Living Learning Communities
Living Learning Communities allow students to live in a dorm community with other students who share a similar academic path, identity, or passion. Students living in these communities will have access to resources, events, and opportunities focused around the area of interest.
If your admitted students plan to live on campus, remind them to submit their housing application soon! On-campus housing is not required (but encouraged) and is not guaranteed. We recommend signing up for the Virtual Orientation Experience and applying for housing as soon as a student decides to commit to Arizona. Students interested in the Living Learning Communities can submit the Living Learning Community application within their housing application.
Your Students Will Love This!
Future Greyhounds have our heart at ENMU, which is why we’re giving them a sweet treat: access to awesome door prizes, free food, and the chance to connect with current students, faculty, and staff during our FREE in-person ENMU Open House event on March 22!
Please encourage them to register today, as last spring’s in-demand Open House reached capacity well before the event date.
Another gift for your Future Greyhounds: they can apply to ENMU for free! And we’re making that process even easier by remaining test-optional at this time; however, we still encourage applicants to submit ACT/SAT test scores to help them potentially get a larger scholarship award amount.
Finally, the ENMU Foundation Scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year are live. It’s time for students to apply! The application deadline is February 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. MST. All applications must be submitted online. To apply for the ENMU Foundation Scholarships, admitted students can log onto their ENMU Portal and select "Apply for Foundation Scholarships" from the Financial Resources section on the left Launchpad menu. If students have questions about applying for foundation scholarships, they can call 575.562.2412.

BECOME A TEACHER & HAVE TUITION & FEES PAID FOR
Hi Sandra,
We’re thrilled to announce that the Arizona Teachers Academy (ATA) is accepting applications for the spring 2025 term! This is an incredible opportunity for students to pursue their teaching dreams while having their tuition and mandatory fees covered.
The program offers:
Full tuition and mandatory fees for participants
Licensure exams and certification fee coverage
One year of first-year teacher support through the Arizona K-12 Center Induction Program
In exchange, ATA graduates commit to teaching in an Arizona public school for each year or portion of a year they participate in the program. If they don’t end up teaching in an Arizona public school, the scholarship simply converts to an interest-free loan. So, there’s no downside!
Anyone who is interested in teaching should take advantage of the ATA. This includes students, school staff, community members, and even you.
ATA-eligible programs are available at NAU’s Flagstaff Campus, statewide campuses, and online. The deadline to submit the agreement is January 31, 2025.
If you or your students have questions, reach out to our Student Service Center at (928) 523-9501 or email ServiceCenter@nau.edu.
Sincerely,

Accelerated Pathway to Medical Education (APME)
This program offers a unique experience for talented students anticipating a career in medicine or medical school. The APME program takes a minimum of 7 years to complete, which includes 3 years of undergraduate studies and 4 years of MD completion.
Being conditionally admitted to the program allows students to earn a reserved spot at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson MD program. Students can apply to APME during their senior year of high school after they have been admitted to Arizona. The Fall 2025 APME application is due January 17, 2025. More details, including application and eligibility requirements, are available on the APME program webpage.

SALT Center
The Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques (SALT) Center is a nationally renowned support program created for students with learning and attention challenges. The SALT Center's innovative approach is recognized as one of the most successful for promoting student achievement in the university setting. Students applying to the SALT Center need to submit an additional application and documentation. In previous years, the SALT Center has reached capacity and initiated a waiting list by April 1. Interested students are encouraged to apply early to have the highest chance of avoiding the waiting list.
W.A. Franke Honors College
Students interested in Franke Honors must complete their Arizona admission application and their Franke Honors application by the Franke Honors deadline. More details are available on the website for Franke Honors College.
Can you believe our priority application deadline is one week away? We think the Colorado School of Mines community would be a great fit for your student's academic and personal interests. That's why we encourage applying by November 1, 2024.
Students who submit an application and transcripts by this date will receive an admission decision by December 21. Complete the steps below to apply today!
Step 1: Complete and submit the online application.
Your student can apply with our Golden Application or Common App.
Step 2: Students upload unofficial transcripts to the Applicant Portal or ask you to send us their official high school transcript.
An unofficial transcript is sufficient for reviewing your students application, though an official transcript will be required if they decide to enroll at Mines.
Step 3: Students can check the status of their application file in the Applicant Portal.
We will send them Applicant Portal access within 24 hours of submitting their application. There they can see the status of their application (and their admissions decision when available) in real-time.
Please note: Mines is a test-optional university. Your student's application will receive equal consideration in our holistic admissions and merit scholarship review process - with or without test scores. National research and Colorado-specific data show that test scores can be a limiting factor to students and unnecessary when making an admissions decision. If you believe test scores will further highlight your academic ability, you are welcome to include them in your application file.
Our team is here to help throughout the admissions process and we are excited to learn how Mines can help your students achieve their goals, Debra. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Dean's Thoughts
Hello! We know financing your education is an important consideration when students are applying for college. Bryn Mawr is committed to access and affordability with aid packages that meet 100% of a student's demonstrated need. It’s October which means it is a great time for students to get started on their financial aid application if they are applying this year. At Bryn Mawr, we require two forms to apply for financial aid—the CSS Profile for all applicants and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for domestic applicants.
We understand that families may feel overwhelmed about navigating the financial aid process. Don’t worry, you’re not alone. We’re here to assist and have compiled our best tips to help you navigate the process. We hope these tips help! Once families ready to get started, they should review everything they need to know about applying for financial aid at Bryn Mawr.

WILLIAMS COLLEGE
I hope your school year is off to a terrific start. Given the changes, challenges, and chaos we’ve all experienced in our work over the last year, I’m writing to remind you of some important information from Williams.
All-Grant Financial Aid–Guaranteed
Our All-Grant Financial Aid Program goes far beyond typical financial aid to provide every student with the wrap-around support they need to really thrive. One hundred percent of our financial aid is given to students as grants that do not need to be repaid. That means:
No loans
No campus work requirement
No summer work requirement
Free books and course materials
Free health insurance
Free summer storage
Williams does not require the FAFSA. Instead, we rely on the CSS Profile to ensure that every student–whether they apply Early Decision, Regular Decision, or through QuestBridge–receives the most individualized, generous, and comprehensive financial aid package possible. Students for whom the Profile fee poses a financial hardship can access guaranteed fee waivers. To get a sense of how affordable Williams can be, please encourage your students to check out our Quick College Cost Estimator.
Test-Optional Policy
Williams has a truly test-optional admission policy. Every student is considered through a fully student-centered, holistic evaluation process.
No Supplemental Essay
Because of the additional burden supplemental essays place on students during an already stressful process, Williams does not require a supplemental essay.
Seeking Your Input on New Admission Initiatives
As we consider some exciting changes to our application process, we are seeking school and CBO-based counselors interested in participating in a virtual advisory group during the 2024-2025 academic year. If you work with students who are first-generation, Pell-eligible, or otherwise have limited financial resources, and are interested in being involved, please fill out this interest form. Participants will receive a volunteer payment. We are especially excited to collaborate with counselors from public schools with a Title I designation.
I look forward to our work together in the year ahead. Until then, enormous thanks for all you do, especially at a moment when our students and our profession need our energy and commitment most.
With all best wishes,
Liz Creighton

VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY
Greetings from Nashville, where campus is buzzing with students, and fall colors and lower temperatures are on the horizon! We are thrilled to welcome the Class of 2028 to their new home as we hit the road to begin meeting the Class of 2029.
We write today to share some changes to our application, highlight key FAFSA updates, and invite you to our fall counselor webinar.
We deeply value your ongoing partnership and the crucial role you play in guiding students and families; your support is often the key to their decision to explore Vanderbilt.
Application Updates for 2024-25
Short Essay Change – This year, we ask both first-year and transfer applicants to complete a short answer essay of approximately 250 words based on the following prompt:
“Vanderbilt University’s motto, Crescere aude, is Latin for dare to grow. In your response, reflect on how one or more aspects of your identity, culture, or background has played a role in your personal growth, and how it will contribute to our campus community as you dare to grow at Vanderbilt.”
This update provides students the opportunity to share how their experience connects to our Vanderbilt values and motto.Glimpse InitialView Video – Applicants now have the optional opportunity to share a 60-90 second video to provide admissions officers a glimpse into who they are. We currently offer an optional video through InitialView for international students, and this will extend that opportunity to domestic applicants.
Common App Student Context Pilot – Vanderbilt is one of 20 universities and colleges participating in the Student Context Pilot with the Common App. The Student Context Pilot is an optional checklist-style question used to gather more information about a student’s varied experiences – particularly those that may not come through on the other sections of the student’s application. This tool can be useful in assisting Vanderbilt in building our incoming classes.
FAFSA Updates for 2025-2026
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid has delayed its launch until December 1, 2024. With that, Vanderbilt has updated our Early Decision I deadline for FAFSA submission to January 2, 2025. This change will not affect our ability to share financial aid offers with Early Decision I admits when we release those decisions in December.
Counselor Webinar – October 17
Executive Director Mike Drish and Senior Associate Director Mary Beth Tift will share details on our incoming class, highlight our upcoming events, and provide updates in our Fall Counselor Webinar. Register here.
Take note: Mailing Address Update
We have updated our zip code to 37240, but our old zip code will continue to work. As you are able, please update your records to the new zip code.
