The Talented Music Program fosters the development of the student’s individualized vision and personal style of expression in the performing arts through introductory and advanced training in all elements of music arts.
The Talented Music department features both instrumental and vocal music students from CHS. Talented Music students can audition for the Talented Musical Theater class. They can also participate in the Instrumental Chamber Program or take an individual pull-out class where they can pursue their own music interests.
Select students from the Talented Musical Theater class or the Instrumental Chamber Program have the opportunity to perform in the Talented Chamber Music Recital for the community.
Students must have a valid Talented Music IEP in order to participate in any of the options listed above. Talented Music students must audition for placement into the Talented Musical Theatre class.
Talented Musical Theatre is an advanced course designed to dig deeper into the world of theatre and provide training for most of our vocal students. This course is available for students in the Talented Music and/or Talented Theatre program. Students will gain performance experience through monologues, scene work, improvisation, choreography, analysis, voice, and history as we explore the origins of theatre throughout each unit.
Students must audition for placement into this class. Students must have a valid Talented Theatre IEP and/or Talented Music IEP in order to be enrolled in the Talented Musical Theatre Class.
