“Spark of Love”
My source of Inspiration for this work was a quote that I found. I found a quote about love, and started working from there. The positioning of the hands holding is my favorite, because it tickles my hand. My process for creating this work was the come up with an inspiration, in my case it was the quote. Then I came up with a sketch for the hands. Then I started drawing it on photoshop. I added small details to the fingernails ,to easy details such as all the fingers. I showed problem solving in this project when I didn't know how to draw the hands, I simply took a picture of my hands. I then looked at the picture of my own hands, and continued drawing. I think a major risk I took was the sparks in the background. It was very hard knowing where to place the sparks. I tried not the put them to close, but not to far. I like how the sparks turned out. It took a long time to figure out the perfect placement, and I'm glad I took my time. If I did this project again, I would change the background color. I think I would make it white, or grey. I think the colors might stand out a bit better then. They are very bright on the black background, and if I used a lighter color they wouldn't take away from the hands.

“Galaxy Ring Holder”
3 1/2 x 3 1/4 “ x 5 1/3”
Clay, Glaze
My source of inspiration is my rings. I have a galaxy ring that I really like. I also need a place to have my rings. So I decided to make a ring holder. It also holds my bracelets. My process of creating this work was, first I came up with the idea of crystals. Then I made a sculpted my crystal shapes, then I made the base. The base is an upside down pinch bowl. Then it was fired, then I picked colors. When it was done in the kiln, I glazed it like a watercolor painting. Then it was fired again. Lastly, I painted the dots. I came across and small problem when painting the dots. They were bad dots when using the paint brush, so I used a paperclip instead. I took a creative risk when using watercolor glaze. I had no idea what I was doing at first then I learned. I'm glad I took the risk. I like the way the colors blended most in my work. If I could do it again, I would want to do I just like this time. I really like how it turned out.
