My idea was to express my love for music. I started off with the idea of just making one of these “album covers” but I wanted to make it a sort of series. I started off by making a sort of template. Making sure all the lines and squares would be the same length and distance apart. Then I picked the song and the picture. After I placed everything I did the final sharpie, and added their tattoos. These are album covers and cd covers of my favorite artist. The 3 biggest pieces are artists I listen to more often. I had a phase where I only 4listened to these artists. The smaller pieces are songs I like, but by artists I don't listen to frequently. The most difficult part was making sure the pictures were as similar as possible. The style of art is non-objective mixed with some realistic. The tattoos are all the real people, but the image is flat and just an “image” of a song.
My idea was to make a pop art frog. I started with a simple sketch of a frog. I then outlined it and colored the frog. I was going to put the frog on a green leave but that didn't work the way I wanted. So I added a ring around the frog and I switched shades of orange and my material. I then added white highlights and spots using a white gel pen. Lastly, I outline everything with a black paint marker. I did a frog because I normally steer away from animals and people. So I wanted to challenge myself while keeping the same style of art I like to make. The most difficult part was not mixing the materials and making the lines consistent. It was so hard because the black wanted to smear and would run. The style of art is abstract. The frog doesn't look like they would in the wild it had a funky feeling and the background adds to the funky frog.
My idea was to make a space scene. I started with the placement of the planets. Then I colored the planets. I started with simple stars to figure out where everything is gonna go. Then I added the blues and purples. Then I finished the stars by hand. I did a space scene because I've always loved space and at my old house I had the start to this piece on my ceiling. The hardest art was placing each star. I had to place each start perfectly to balance the art. The style of art is somewhat realistic, i did sign it in stars, which makes it less realistic.
