Haylie Wrage “Honey”
20”x16”, Acrylic, 2019
My painting style is realism. I made the bees and beehive look as real as I was capable of. This is a painting of a neon sign that says “honey”. There are bees flying over the neon sign. There is a beehive in the top right corner. If I had to restart, I would change the beehive, I would make it bigger and more realist. I love how the neon sign looks real. I added watered down yellow to the background to make it look like the sign was glowing.
Haylie Wrage “Fish”
18”x24”, Acrylic, 2019
My painting style is realism. I made the fish look real, I also made the background and water look real. This is a painting of a fish. The fish is red, orange, yellow and white. There is blue and red coral in the background along with green seaweed. If I had to restart, I would change the color of the water, I would make it a lighter blue-green. I love how the fish looks, it took a long time to get it like that and I’m proud.
Haylie Wrage “Finger Mountains”
18”x24”, Acrylic, 2019
My painting style is realism. I made everything look as real as possible using only my fingers. This is a painting of 3 mountains with a sun on the right side. There are also 5 birds flying in the painting. If I had to restart, I would change the shy, I would make it a little bit darker. I love that I painted the entire painting with my index finger. I also like how you can't really tell if the birds are going away or coming.
