PSAT Senior Information

Seniors and Senior Parents

On Wednesday, October 30th, freshmen, sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSAT. Since this is neither red nor white day, we are encouraging seniors to explore a college visit or to participate in job shadowing. Both of these opportunities provided the appropriate paperwork is filled out and complete, will exempt students from school (and not count toward “S to the 5th” absences). Students with the completed paperwork need not call in their absence as the returned paper will suffice.

For students who will be job shadowing or taking a college visit on October 30th:

• Students must complete the College Visit on PSAT day form and turn into the attendance office no later than October 30th to have their absence excused.
• Students must complete the top portion of the job shadowing form and turn into the attendance office no later than October 30th to have their absence excused.

For your day to remain an excused absence you must complete the remaining steps:

• Turn in a verification letter from your college visit by Friday, November 1st to the attendance office.
• Students completing a job shadow must return the bottom portion of the form with your host signature completed by Friday, November 1st to the attendance office.
• All forms must be completed in order to qualify as an exemption absence.
  • College visit and job shadowing forms are available in the attendance office.

Seniors who are in attendance on October 30th will participate in a variety of small group activities.
