Our Founders’ dream became a reality on March 11, 2024, and the opportunity for The Skills Center to change the lives of youth in East Tampa grew exponentially. With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrated not just the opening of a new building, but the continuation of a legacy built on 17 years of unwavering dedication to empower youth and serve the Tampa Bay community. Barriers were broken and futures will be shaped within the walls on 22nd street
Since 2007 The Skills Center has been a safe place for the youth ages 3 to 18 offering guidance, support, and the opportunity to learn key life skills such as responsibility, discipline, and resilience. Every day, we witness the transformative power of education, mentorship, and community, as young minds realize new possibilities.
After we cut the ribbon and we welcomed guests into the newly renovated space, the building was immediately filled with possibility and promise. For every handshake exchanged and smile shared, we felt the ripple effects of change, touching the hearts and minds of the 243 people who walked through the door.
To our generous supporters, whose belief in the cause fuels our work and sustains our vision, we offer our heartfelt thanks.

Together, we are The Skills Center Collaborative, a collective impact model striving to help young people ages 3 - 24 THRIVE in School, have Healthy Bodies & Minds, and are READY for Work.
We have created a place where every young person can succeed; a place where essential skills are developed, positive relationships are grown and solutions to systemic challenges facing underserved youth are addressed.
From Now On… we provide individualized success plans and services that lead to upward economic mobility.
