The Skills Center's girls experienced an unforgettable week during the NCAA Women’s Final Four in Tampa, April 2025.
The excitement began with the WBCA Aflac Girls Skills Clinic, powered by The Skills Center, where more than 150 middle school girls spent the day sharpening their basketball skills on the court and relaxing with yoga sessions off the court. They even had the chance to snap photos with the iconic Aflac Duck! Each participant took home a shirt, Nike backpack, sports apparel, Wilson basketball, and Aflac and Dove products.
The momentum continued as our girls greeted the South Carolina, UConn, UCLA, and Texas women’s basketball teams upon their arrival in Tampa. On Super Saturday, they joined the Bounce event, dribbling basketballs from Curtis Hixon Park to the Convention Center, enjoying interactive activities, meeting WNBA and college players, and posing for photos. The day ended with a rare opportunity to watch all four Final Four teams practice at Amalie Arena.
It was a week filled with basketball, inspiration, and empowering moments, leaving our girls motivated to dream big, work hard, and see themselves on the court one day.
Since January, we’ve hosted three Recreational Basketball seasons for youth ages 6–14. Each division creates a fun, competitive, and family-friendly atmosphere, led by coaches passionate about youth development and teaching the game. We’re proud to be the only organization in Tampa with an All-Girls Division, which continues to grow every season.
Each season ends with our exciting All-Star Event, where coaches select standout players for special matchups. Fans enjoy skills challenges, 3-point contests for youth and adults, and even a dunk contest featuring our older SCE athletes, creating memories that last well beyond the court.
This travel basketball season, Skills Center Elite (SCE) fielded 19 competitive teams, proudly representing Tampa on the Under Armour Future and Under Armour Rise Circuits. Our program is built on family culture, hard work, and a commitment to Trust the Process—developing both teams and individual players.
