People

People in the ghettos had to adapt to the environment for the time they were there. Jews had been in Poland since the 1300’s, but only up until the 1900’s did people start really shunning them. The Jews made up 30% of the Polish population. This made it difficult to create enough ghettos for all of them, or at least the ones they could get. The majority of the Jews spoke Yiddish so it was difficult trying to communicate. The Jewish culture itself was very rich so the Nazis wanted to gather their money for themselves.
