What Lies Within The Ghettos

The ghettos were a scary place that you'd never wish to be. The locations were brutal. Ghettos weren't put in rich City's or countrysides. Instead, they were put in the most deserted places (not all). The time it took place was when things were falling apart so it was twice as difficult. Conditions and rules within the ghettos were even harder. It didn't help that the people there were so desperate , they'd do anything to survive. Hunger and starvation was the main cause of death in the ghettos. When it came to their worship and education, jews were forbidden to have such. It was extremely hard in the ghettos, you'll come to see that when you go through and read.

Location

On the first page it tells you about the location of the ghettos . Such as where they are and what types of ghettos there is. Also, some of the biggest ghettos. Then, I give a example of the biggest ghetto and what it was like.

Here is just a picture of where the ghettos were throughout Europe . So you can see what it looks like.

(Locations of the ghettos throughout Europe.)

Time

On my second page It goes over when the ghettos were, when they started, the first ghetto, and the man who ended the first ghetto.

You can take a look to your right to see the man who ended it, Napoleon Bonaparte.

(Napoleon Bonaparte , General of the French revolution and the one who dissolved the Venice Ghetto.)

Conditions & Rules

On my third page it introduces some of the conditions and rules the jews had to follow and proceed in the Ghetto.

If you take a look, you can see what jews outfits looked like and what they would wear for clothing .

(Jews everyday appearance, they would have a star symbol, a long coat, and hat.)

As you can notice, jews always had to wear a star that represented they were jewish an they also had to wear hats.

People

On my fourth page I go over what the people were like and how much of the population they took.

This is how many jews were in each country. by the looks of it you can probably tell that its over atleast 20% of there population.

(Amount of jews in each country)

Hunger & Starvation

On the fifth page it explains the scarce of food, how much they got , and what it was like.

As you can see, they didn't eat at a table or with silverware. Where ever was safe they would eat. Children got the most amount of food.

(Kids in the Ghetto got most amount of food they had left)

Education & Worship

On my last page it talks about why they don't have schools anymore , an that they can not have any worship.

As you can see, this old destroyed room could be one of the few places they carried out the underground schooling system.

(Abandon, destroyed room . This was similar to where the jews would go to attend school.)
