My idea was to create a pitcher that i could use to water my plants. I got the idea because my teacher wanted us to create a pitcher of some sort to get used to the slab roller. First, I cut a slab of clay and I rolled it out in the slab roller. I took it to the table and I smoothed over the slab, then I used a rolling pin and cloth with a pattern and rolled my pattern into my slab, after doing that I used the needle tool to cut out the shape of my pitcher. I coiled the back of it and smoothed it down with my fingers and a sponge, the I used my fingers to make the top of the pitcher. Once it was all done my teacher put it in the kiln, when it was done i glazed it and fired it again. It doesn't really symbolize anything for me. It was most difficult for me to not ruin the pattern. I only focused on the parts that really needed smoothed down and I tried my best to avoid the area with the pattern.Â
