My first idea was going with the flow. I got this idea from a life lesson because some people just say go with the flow. I did get the inspration picture from the internet but I did evolve it by adding the 2 faces on top of it and adding mored detail and colors. My first thing I wanted to do was just get a base color so I painted the base a dark blue and had to do a couple coats. I then painted the bottom part. I did have to change that part a lot because it didnt look right for me. I did some light blue and dark blues to try to get what i had before and it didnt look right for so then I tried to do a paint pour. I put different shades of blues and white in the cup with some water so I would be able to pour it but it didnt work the right away and mostly gave it a texture. I think I did about 3 different coats of different things on the bottom part then finally just kept adding different streaks of light blue, dark blue, white, and even gold. The cloudy part along the edge between the dark and the pattern stuf is used with a sponge and some paint brushes. I used white and some different blues to get the colors and I also used a toothbrush to get some of the texture look on the bottom. I also used a toothbrush to flick gold on to it. For the top with the dark blue I painted it as my base but then I had too much going on up there so I painted over it to restart. I used the spong with some white and the toothbrush with some light blue to get the cloud look. I used a toothbrush to flick white paint on the background and I flicked some gold. Bre the girl that sits next to me helped add some little handpainted stars. And I added some white streaks to look like shooting stars. For the face I do need to give credit to Quin Kuehl because she is the one that drew it and let me use it to push my painting further. I used transfer paper to the the drawing on there. I then traced it with gold paint marker then decided to add some white to give it more definition. The artwork means going with the flow and just letting what happens happen and being able to just go with it. I do want my audience to try to see going with the flow but if not that then be able to see moving on. Maybe some symbolism seen is moving on in how the faces are different ones more stiff and looks sad and the other is more free. Looks like a person that has moved on from whatever they need to move on from. The thing that was most difficult for me was trying to not make everything perfect. I overcame it by taking a step back and just letting it happen if i didnt like some thing I would breathe and see if it was really that bad and it never was. If I could change anything I would probably change the face on the bottom and make the lips not that big. I like the background now I wish I couldve just kept the background and not added the faces but it pushed the painting farther. This art is more abstract I believe because its not relly supposed to look like anything. Its personal to my own style because I use faces a lot in my work and I keep using them even though im not that good at drawing faces. I love the entire background of my painting I think it looks really good now.
