Test scores typically take about a month to be processed and returned. You can access your scores by logging onto your SAT or ACT account (which you will make when registering for the test). This can either be done during the registration process or after you are already registered for the test. If you wait until after you register to choose what colleges to send your scores to, you may have to pay for each school you send scores to.
Let's break it down with some FAQ's and step-by-step procedures!
All students receive 4 free score sends per test registration ($12 for each additional college). Students who are eligible for fee waivers have unlimited score sends.
You will have from the date you registered for the test, until 9 days after you take the test to select the colleges to send scores to. If you miss the deadline, each send will cost $12.
Unofficial score reports can be downloaded after you recieve your scores on the collegeboard or ACT website. Unofficial score reports can also be reported through your transcript. At Eastern View, we do include your SAT and ACT scores on your trasncript. Many colleges also accept the unofficial score report for admissions purposes, but they may later ask for official score reports for their records if you decide to attend that college.
Many colleges will take your highest section scores from different test dates, forming the highest possible composite score (i.e.- test 1=400 reading & 600 math(1000 composite score), test 2=500 reading & 550 math (1050 composite score); superscore=1100
For the SAT, you can send scores to up to four schools for free if you send them within 5 days of the test date. After this point, they cost $12 each (unless you have a fee waiver).
