For this project we were given several choices of what we could do to make a project during our time we are not at school. Unfortunately I was not able to continue my previous project I had started, so my new project choice was to make a YouTube-style gameplay video with one of my friends. For this project we decided to play the game Sea of Thieves, which is an adventurous pirate game that you can cooperatively play with others. In the game you sail a pirate ship with your crew mates and must adjust the sails, stock up on supplies, and hunt for loot around the seas. During your journey you can be confronted by other pirates, skeletons, or even giant sea monsters. We chose this game because it has great visuals, is family friendly, and enjoyable to watch. We decided to sail around island to island on a quest while we talked to each other and the audience. We ran into several exciting challenges and showed our journey from beginning to end.
To make this video I used the Nvidia capture software to record my gameplay and audio at high quality, then I edited the video in adobe premiere. I decided to edit the hour+ long video down to around 17 minutes so viewers can see all the important and exciting things that happened, but not be bored by the long process. Throughout the video we tried to include comedy to keep the audience interested by adding some edits into the video for comedic purposes. I was able to find sound effects, stock footage, and music to put in the video that wasn’t under any copyright constraints. Overall, this made the video more enjoyable to watch and will hopefully give viewers a laugh. The video turned out the way we intended and we hope to continue making them in the future.
