In my Digital Foundations class I was tasked to create a school business card to represent our school and improve from our last business card. I decided to go with a simplistic color scheme involving our school colors. I found that a light blue gradient that transitions to white would fit with the color pattern I was going for. I decided to make the Direwolf the biggest thing on the card because that is what represents our school as our mascot. I then decided to put a very subtle drop shadow behind the Direwolf as well as a white glow effect to help with the blue and white color scheme. I chose to spell out our whole school name instead of its abbreviation so people could clearly see what school we are. This also fit with the Design so there is less negative space on the card. My main Idea on the business card was the icons on the right hand side of the business card. Each one of these represents something about our school. The 3 heads being community, the laptop for technology, Globe/web symbol for our New tech network of schools, The hands for collaboration, The head for our project based style of learning, and of Course the Graduation Hat for college readiness. I felt these icons would be a creative yet simple way of showing what our school is about without using text and taking up too much space. Underneath these icons is our school address as well as our contact information. Just above the address is a spot for a teacher name if a particular teacher wants this Business Card to be theirs. Otherwise It would be removed if It would be used to represent the entire school rather than a particular teacher.
