How to set up NCKU mail on IPhone? (POP)

  • Following is the example of ios 13.3


1. Open the Settings app on iPhone and enter “ Password and Account ”.

2. Tap “ Add Account“ and then select ”Other“.

3. Tap “ Add Mail Account“ under the mail heading, and enter the NCKU mail account information. The information enter here are user’s personal NCKU mail address, username and associated password.

4. Select account type ( IMAP or POP ):

  • IMAP: The original copy of emails will save on school’s server, so users can manage emails from multiple devices.

  • POP: Downloads emails from the server for permanent and save in mobile device, so any emails users received won’t be replicated on the other devices.

If users have more than one device where users read mails, use IMAP as account type rather than POP. (p.s.: Following we use POP for example.)

5. Enter Host Name as “ncku.edu.tw “ under the INCOMING and OUTGOING MAIL SERVER heading. User Name is NCKU account ( Student ID ) and associated password.

6. Tap “ Next ” and “ OK ” then select “ Save ”.

7. If there is the account information under the account heading, then the setting process is completed. Users can enter the account and check the information is correct or not.

8. Make sure that information following is correct.

(1) Host Name is “ncku.edu.tw“,user name and password are correct.

Tap “ Advanced ”, the “ Server Port“should be set to 110, if users use SSL setting then the Server Port should be 995.

(2) Make sure the information of “ Outgoing mail server ” is correct. Tap “ SMTP ”, then enter “ Primary server“.

The Host Name is “ncku.edu.tw“, and user name and password are correct , the“ Server Port“ should be set to 25, if users use SSL setting then the Server Port should be 587.
