Joining a school club is a great way to learn a lot about yourself and gain valuable experience. You will meet new people with similar interests.

Joining a club will also help you to build your high school transcripts and give you experience that you can talk about at a job interview!

There are many to choose from and you will be given the opportunity to learn about two of them during the annual Roughie Rush event.

And don't worry, if you miss a club during Roughie Rush, you can always attend the next club meeting during Advisory period or email the club's advisor for more information.

Digital Media Club

Digital Media Club is an introduction to multimedia design/video production. We learn about storytelling through film, create flyers and videos for school and community events, create social media posts, and much more!

Drama Club

Meeting Location:

The drama club is a hardworking, creative group of students who have a love for performing and theatre. Whether it’s backstage with lights and curtains or on stage singing and dancing, everyone is welcome and has an important role to play in this club. This group will help you to get out of your comfort zone, meet new people, and become confident and comfortable with performing. If performing isn’t your thing, we have many backstage opportunities such as stage crew, lighting or spotlights, curtains, and moving props and sets. Each year, the drama club puts on a Spring Musical in March, and this year our show is Mamma Mia! This club also provides many opportunities for fundraising. This year alone, we have done several fundraisers including a Broadway Night Cabaret, face painting at numerous football games, as well as our annual Autumnfest bake sale tent.

This year, auditions for Mamma Mia! will be held on Sunday, November 24th, in the CHS Auditorium.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

CHS FBLA isn’t just for students interested in business — it’s for anyone who’s motivated, competitive, and ready to challenge themselves. Our chapter competes in a wide range of events, from public speaking and policy debates to technology and creative problem-solving. Whether you’re into government, theater, math, writing, or just like being part of a winning team, there’s a place for you in FBLA. You’ll meet new friends, grow leadership skills, and even get the chance to travel to conferences across Pennsylvania.

Gaming / Esports Club

Club Description: Gaming club is an opportunity for students to socialize and have fun together based on their hobby of playing video games. Students will have an opportunity to play multi and single player games, and spend time discussing gaming strategies and preferences. Esports Club is a competitive video gaming club that competes against other high schools teams, and in the Carbon Lehigh Esports Network league with the attempt to make the playoffs and possibly bring home the championship. The club takes the hobby of playing video games and creates a competitive environment for it. Specifically we will be competing in Rocket League, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Mario Kart 8 at the present time with other titles hopefully coming in the future.

Green Team

Green Team is a club that builds knowledge and appreciation for nature’s beauty and our environment. The club will brainstorm, fundraise, collect donations and design nature projects in the Fall and Spring Semesters that will beautify CSD buildings/ properties and increase the use of school grown herbs to be used by CSD students!

When: 1-2 Thursdays/month during Rough Rider, and designated service days after school utilizing the afternoon late bus or personal transportation

Where: Meetings held in cafeteria, service projects in designated area

Why: to develop a love and appreciation of nature, increase healthy nutrition, build social and problem solving skills, to develop a vision and execute a plan, growing self esteem and a sense of community

National Honors Society (NHS)

National Honors Society is a prestigious group of high school students that each demonstrate the qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. The purpose of membership is to progress students’ academics, leadership, and community engagement. Furthermore, N.H.S. recognizes these students for their accomplishments and achievements, and challenges them to advance their involvement. Students who are elected to the National Honor Society are held to a higher standard. They are required to not only maintain outstanding grades, but also put themselves out in their school and community through volunteer hours. The Catasauqua Chapter of N.H.S. also makes it a goal each year to donate any and all contributions from events held at Catasauqua to an organization or institution of their choosing.

The Catasauqua High School Music Department welcomes everyone to join us in the artistic world of music. If you have any love about singing, playing instruments, or spinning equipment, you should consider joining us. These award winning musical groups have traveled around the United States showcasing their many talents. The bands and Chorus have performed at Hershey Park, Disney World, and Tennessee. Our Indoor Guard group has competed every year in fierce competition which culminates in championship weekend at Wildwood, NJ.

Description: Scholastic Scrimmage is a high school academic challenge program. Students compete against other high schools in the area in a single-elimination style tournament filmed at the PBS TV station. Questions include all academic subjects as well as pop culture and sports.

Sample Question: "This river feeds the All-American Canal, which was built in the 1930's. This river was dammed at Glen Canyon to create Lake Powell. This river, which irrigates the Imperial Valley, flows into the Gulf of California. For 10 points - name this river that flows through the Grand Canyon."

School of Rock meets after school on Tuesdays in room B220 to deliver musical instruction as well as to promote collaboration, performance art, and music appreciation. We encourage students to bring their own instruments if they have them, but it is not mandatory to own an instrument to participate. We primarily focus on drums, guitar, bass, and keyboards, but all instruments are welcome. Have fun, learn how to play with other musicians, and ROCK OUT!! See you on Tuesday.

Stars Club

Who we are: The STARS club stands for Students Taking Active Roles. We promote positive actions and school spirit. Our club focuses on being kind to everyone and recognizing random acts of kindness being shown through out the day at school. STARS club encompasses the Aevidum philosophy and students have attended several Aevidum events throughout the Lehigh Valley. Things our club has done include: handing out candy with positive messages attached, gift exchange at another school/speaker, healthy living expo, and school activities. This year we are part of the Sandy Hook Promise Start with Hello club.

We are in charge of hosting Spirit Week activities, as well as other spirit events that go towards Spirit Week. We decorate for the Pep Rally, set up for Homecoming and run the Homecoming ballot, and are in charge of Hall Decorating. We all come together to help setup, plan, and decorate to keep Catty traditions alive!

T.E.A.M. Catty

T.E.A.M. Catty is a mentorship program that pairs mentors with a mentee for the entire school year. Students will meet with their mentees on a regular basis and engage in a variety of activities and events. The goal of this program is to provide mentors and mentees with the opportunity to practice acceptance, guidance, and inclusion.

T.E.A.M. Catty provides mentors with the opportunity to interact with students they may not socialize with on a regular basis. Mentors will be acting as the role model for other students to follow. Mentorship programs can be listed on college or job resumes to highlight leadership and school engagement.

In order to be a member of this club students must submit an application to Miss.Walker when sign-ups occur.

The Brown & White newspaper is created by students enrolled in Journalism, which is a full-year course that takes place during Rough Rider. This class gives you the tools and time to learn various skills that will allow you to create a high-quality newspaper for students and residents of Catasauqua to enjoy.

Varsity "C" Club for Student Athletes

Meeting Room: B114

Varsity C is a club for student athletes to give back to the athletic community they are a part of while also earning the volunteer hours needed to order their varsity jacket. Students must obtain at least ten volunteering events and three varsity letters prior to ordering their jacket. Students who complete ten events per year are able to get fully reimbursed for their jacket. Student athletes volunteer in the snack stand, as ball runners, at community events, and more!

Fundraising efforts through dine and donates, apparel sales, and hosting our powderpuff game contribute to the Varsity C scholarship given each year to the senior male and female athlete who obtain the most varsity letters across their four years at Catasauqua.

Varsity C members create hype videos for upcoming events, make signs to support our athletic teams, and participate in pep rallies!

Yearbook Club

Yearbook Club's sole purpose is to memorialize each school year through the creation of the yearbook!

Your participation is tailored to your skills and level of experience and commitment you contribute. Don’t have any skills or experience--that’s OK! You will learn those skills and develop your creativity--but you do have to have a desire to contribute.

We meet after school on Wednesdays.
