Heartsaver for K-12 Schools uses the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course to teach K-12 students, faculty, and staff critical skills needed to respond to and manage a cardiac arrest, choking, or first aid emergency in the first few minutes until EMS arrives. This course teaches hands-only adult CPR and AED use. Child CPR AED, infant CPR, and first aid modules are optional. Students may also learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first aid emergencies.

Some students earn Industry-Recognized Credentials while at work or volunteering after school hours. Completion of an industry-recognized credential that aligns with your postsecondary plans will count as evidence towards the ACT 158 Evidence-based pathway.

DCO is a LCTI course offered to all CHS students in grades 11-12. In this program, students are excused from block 3 and 4 to earn credit by working a minimum of 20 hours per week at an employer of their choosing. An LCTI instructor oversees the program, visits the job site, and collects evaluations from your employer. At the end of this program, you will take the industry-specific NOCTI offered through the LCTI course for the DCO Program.
Complete the industry-specific NOCTI or NIMS offered through your chosen LCTI program.
