The Army ROTC is one of the nation’s biggest scholarship grantors and provides $376 million in scholarship money to more than 15,000 students each year (US News, 2019).
Entry-level Army privates make around $20,172 a year while Air Force generals make around $189,600 a year. However, base pay is only part of their compensation as they often also receive allowances for housing, food, and uniforms (Business Insider, 2019).
Two in five employers said they planned to actively recruit US veterans for their organizations in 2018 (Career Builder, 2018).
The unemployment rate for veterans was down to 4.4 percent in May of 2021 from 5.3% in April (US Department of Labor, 2021).
