Room 14 integrated inquiry has been learning about the Lost Boys (and girls) of Sudan.
The Lost Boys of Sudan refers to a group of over 20,000 boys of the Nuer and Dinka ethnic groups who were displaced or orphaned during the Second Sudanese Civil War (1987–2005). Two million were killed and others were severely affected by the conflict. The term 'Lost Boys' was used by healthcare workers in the refugee camps and may have been derived from the children's story of Peter Pan.
The boys embarked on treacherous journeys on foot to refugee camps in Ethiopia and Kenya where thousands were sheltered for several years. Some of the Lost Boys were offered new lives through official resettlement programs in the US.

I can eat whatever I want
I am starving everyday
We are both children
I can play video games
I play whatever I can think of
We are both children
I have loving parents
My parents were killed
We are both innocent
