There are many tools available to help you create instructional videos. You can use your phone or other recording devices to capture activities you would like to include in your video project. You can record your voice or other audio using your computer, Chromebook or phone; or you can bring in audio files from the internet. These are things that have been available to us for years. What we have been lacking is a way to compile and edit the video and audio into a format that can be shared with our intended audience. Until recently this ability was limited to costly software that few could afford.
CSD has recently purchased Screencast-O-Matic for open district use. We currently have access to 50 rotating licenses. That means that in any one month, 50 computers in the district can use it. At the end of each month the system resets and 50 different computers can use it. In the event that more people want to use it, we are set up to increase the number or available licenses.
