Today we are going to invent our own patterns and rules and incorporate these into our design for the quad.

By the end we should be able to:

establish a rule

create a graph

predict the number of tiles (or equivalent) needed for the nth term

You will work with your team. All work should be presented on a google doc and submitted on work space.

Create a pattern (you can get ideas from the work you have done)

Draw the first five terms for the pattern.

Create the table for your pattern.

Create the rule for your pattern.

Using Desmos - create the graph of your pattern and take a screenshot.

Where is your pattern going to go in the quad?

How many terms will fit in the area you are working in? (do you need a tape measure)

Will it go on a wall or on the ground? Draw it as it will look in the finished design.

Are you using tiles? Will your tiles go around trees? How many tiles will you need in total?

How much will it cost? How will you find this information?

Create at least four different patterns and discuss each one.
