Today we are going to...(for those who did not do this on the 15th August - if you did work with me last week please go to the bottom of the page)

• Create a linear rule (y = 2x + 6, for example) from a table and/or a pattern
• Graph our linear rule
• Predict further ordered pairs using our rule and/or our graph

For each pattern, draw the next shape. How does each shape change - do the number of lines increase? Are there more matchsticks?

Use your table to make a rule.

By the end of the lesson we should be able to write a formal rule.

Complete the Google form by Monday 20th August

For those who did linear graphs with Mrs Hyland last week...

• Have you finished your worksheet?
• Have you investigated DESMOS?

Use the link above for DESMOS and the power point on work space. This needs to be completed by Wednesday 29th August

• Have you completed the google form/quiz? I would like this done before you leave today.

• Have you named your math book?
• Have you collected another worksheet with more linear patterns? This needs to be completed and glued into your math book.

If you have completed all of the above, keep working on the quad design as instructed by Mr King. Don't forget you need to add a linear pattern of some form - this may be paving stones, lines drawn using a rule, a sequence that can be described mathematically.
