Today we are going to...
- Create a linear rule (y = 2x + 6, for example) from a table and/or a pattern
- Graph our linear rule
- Predict further ordered pairs using our rule and/or our graph
We will use a hard copy of the pictures as they are easier to draw on but you can use the link if you lose your copy.
For each pattern, draw the next shape. How does each shape change - do the number of lines increase? Are there more matchsticks?
Draw a table for each pattern
Use your table to make a rule.
By the end of the lesson we should be able to write a formal rule.
