Always carry your chromebook in the hallways in its protective sleeve. Double check your sleeve is zipped closed.
Never walk with your chromebook open, unless directed to do so by a teacher.
Be sure to check before you close your chromebook that you did not leave an earbuds or pencils on the keyboard. These can crack the screen.
Gently unplug your chromebook from the charging cable. Don't tug on the wire itself. That can damage the port or the end of the cable.
Protecting Your Privacy
Don't leave your chromebook unattended. This includes in the locker room, above your locker, unlocked classrooms, Media Center, hallways, school bus, or cafeteria.
When you are not physically sitting in front of your chromebook (ex. temporarily leaving the classroom), lock your screen. You can:
Press and hold the Lock key for three seconds
Press the Search key and L
If you don't use the chromebook for a while, it will "sleep" to save power.
Plugged in: The screen will turn off in 8 minutes and it will go to sleep in 30 minutes.
Not plugged in: The screen will turn off in 6 minutes and it will sleep in 10 minutes.
