It is your responsibility to have your chromebook charged and ready to be used at school. Here are some tips for charging it:
Keep your chromebook charger where you will find it. You could keep it in the laptop sleeve, so you have it while at school. You could also keep it where you charge your phone, so you see it and remember to plug it in every night.
It is safe to leave your chromebook charging over night. This is the easiest way to make sure you have a full charge.
Fully shut down your chromebook when you are not using it for a few hours, instead of just closing it. This will use less power.
To keep your charger working its best, keep these tips in mind:
Unplug your chromebook from the charging cable before picking it up. This ensures that the cable plug isn't yanked from the port on the chromebook or the wall.
Unplug the charger from your chromebook gently to avoid damaging the port or the end of the cable.
Bonus Tip: A red light next to charging port means charging but not fully charged yet. Blue, green or white light means fully charged
We understand that accidents happen. But follow these guidelines to protect your chromebook:
Don't leave your chromebook in the direct sun, high heat, or freezing temperatures.
Don't leave it in a car.
Keep food and drink away from your chromebook.
Keep pets away from your chromebook.
In general, many printers work with chromebooks, but not all. Here are some simple instructions which may help you get started.
Some printers can be connected by USB cables. If your printer is one of those, connect it to your chromebook and it might automatically appear in the list of printers. If it doesn't, check the directions in the link above.
Please note that due to the very large number of models of printers, we can not support them all. If your printer works, please feel free to use it. If it doesn't, we can not assist you.
If you don't have Internet access at home, you can set up offline editing of Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. This will make it possible to work on your files without an Internet connection and then synchronize when you turn on the chromebook back at school. Directions are available from both this site and Google's official documents.
