CadetNet encompasses both the "Intranet" and "CadetNet"
The "Intranet" has resources and information that cadets could find useful, such as relevant forms, manuals, training information, information about NZCF courses, and NZCF history.
"CadetNet" contains a Cadet's personal profile page, unit administration, unit training and the ATP. The ATP shows the upcoming NZCF courses (e.g. JNCO, SNCO or Skills), and the unit training tab shows the upcoming unit activities (e.g. range shoots, weekend camps or community events).
All NZCF activities are applied for through CadetNet, so it is important that cadets are able to access CadetNet and can navigate the site.
To apply for NZCF activities (e.g. promotional courses, skills), the cadet will need to log into CadetNet on Google Chrome, then click on "CadetNet' in the top right hand corner. They will then need to click on "ATP", then click on the course that they wish to apply for. The cadet will then click "apply as student", at which point an email will be sent to their primary next of kin. This next of kin will need to approve the email BEFORE the closing time for applications for the cadet to have applied successfully.
To apply for unit activities, the cadet must follow the same process as above for logging into CadetNet on Google Chrome. The only difference is that instead of clicking "ATP", the cadet will hover their mouse over "Unit Training", then click on "Unit Training Programme". The process is then the same as for an activity on the ATP.
Common Issue:
"There are no activities showing up"
A. in the search bar, ensure that "City of Christchurch Cadet Unit" is selected
Your primary next of kin will be sent an email to confirm your application, unless you're 18 years or older in which case the email will go to you.
Before your next of kin starts, make sure that Google Chrome is your default browser. They'll then need to locate the email - remember to check the Spam folder. The email will be from "do.not.reply@cadetforces.org.nz". Click the green approve button on the email, and ensure that the email then opens in Google Chrome. The next of kin will then double-check the cadet's details, then click the approve button at the bottom of the page.
The cadet's application will not be approved until this step is done.
If your CadetNet details are incorrect in any way, for example you move house, change schools, change doctors, have a change in medical conditions or have a new next of kin, then click on the "Personal Detail Update" link below.
It's important that your details on your CadetNet profile are up to date in case we need to contact anyone whilst you are at a cadet activity, and so we can meet any health, cultural or educational requirements you may have.
