Our entry level orchestra, Concert Orchestra (ORCH 1) is for freshmen and students who are looking for a fun, non-competitive orchestra experience.
No audition is required for this orchestra, but it is recommended have at least 1 year of prior orchestra experience. If you don't currently play a string instrument, reach out to Mr. Anderson if you want to join!Â
About 25% of students are enrolled in private lessons in this orchestra.
Our focus is solidifying all the concepts learned in middle school and then learning more advanced concepts, such as faster/slower tempos, advanced rhythms, pushing musicality, and consistent incorporation of vibrato.
Students participate in four concerts per year, a small ensemble project, as well as performance at CASTA Regionals.
Students are also eligible for a day field trip in-state field trip every year as well as out-of-state field trips every four years.
