Our advisory credit supports the Chaffee County High School mission (to engage and educate students through innovative practices so they can make a positive impact in their community) by developing your executive functioning skills, personal well-being, interpersonal skills, and real world connections.
Advisory is also a forum to ensure we are engaging you in all of the ICAP (Individual Academic and Career Plan) skills required by the state of Colorado to graduate.
Activities in advisory will fall into these four buckets:
You will independently keep track of your belongings, schedules, and goals
You will learn to manage your time and to balance multiple roles
You will use critical thinking skills to make complex decisions

You will practice setting short-term goals and checking in on them in a reasonable timeframe to maintain your long-term graduation goal and postsecondary goals
You will learn to use Mindfulness to focus your thinking and regulate your emotions
You will practice life skills that reinforce and build on skills introduced in Discovery (problem solving, anger management, effective communication)
