This is Louis XIV of France, better known as THE SUN KING.
He took France to the next level, making it the most powerful country at the end of the 17th century.
He centralized all powers in his person and in his new palace, Versailles (above), and created the idea of Monarquía de Origen Divino ('divine right to rule' or 'divine right of kings'). France inspired other monarchies across all of Europe, which then determined what would happen over the next few decades.
