A) SUBJECT: The subject of a sentence is the person or thing doing the action.
Examples:

Important:
For statements: Notice that the words 'gern' and 'nicht gern' are placed directly after the conjugated verb in a German sentence.

For questions: In a German question, the words 'gern' and 'nicht gern' are placed directly after the subject.

Note: the words "gern" and "gerne" are exactly the same. There is no difference in meaning or in use.
