Year 8 Foods
Subject Length: 1 semester

In this subject, students develop their knowledge of hygiene and safe food handling. Students investigate the properties of food and fundamental cooking techniques. Through the use of Design Briefs, students design, produce and evaluate a variety of food products. Students will plan and manage individual and paired production of food items. They will make use of food models to develop their knowledge, and application of healthy eating. Students will develop their skills of teamwork and reflection to improve their learning.
In all technology practical classes, it is mandatory to wear leather school shoes for safety and protection purposes.
