The Humanities includes four interdisciplinary strands: Civics and Citizenship, Economics and Business, Geography and History. These four strands are covered over the two year band of Years 9 and 10. Humanities is a compulsory subject in Year 10. The Humanities provides a framework for students to examine the complex processes that have shaped the modern world and to investigate responses to different challenges including people’s interconnections with the environment.

Year 10 Humanities provides a strong foundation for a range of VCE subjects, including History, Geography, Legal Studies, and Economics. It also supports pathways into subjects such as Business Management, Legal Studies, Accounting, Politics, Philosophy, and Sociology, fostering critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world.
