Training

At MFPL, you have an opportunity to become certified to use some of our equipment. This means that you will have a note on your library account that indicates you are allowed to use certain equipment without the presence of a staff specialist responsible for that particular equipment.

Certification requirements vary depending on the type of equipment that you want to certify on and your level of prior experience. Other classes require a few more training hours to get certified. You can prove your proficiency through attending classes, working on projects in Open Makerspace, and passing a practical exam in the following labs:

• Large Printer (coming soon)
• Woodworking (coming soon)
