At MFPL, you have an opportunity to become certified to use some of our equipment. This means that you will have a note on your library account that indicates you are allowed to use certain equipment without the presence of a primary staff member responsible for that particular equipment.

Most certifications just require that you attend one class and complete one project. For example, you can attend a Stop-Motion Animation class, record a video on your own, and then you can ask to be certified.

Other classes require a few more training hours to get certified. You can prove your proficiency through attending classes, working on projects in Open Makerspace, and passing a practical exam in the following labs:
