We have a lot of woodworking equipment that is available for Makerspace Members to use. This includes tools for:
cutting

turning
carving
Our woodworking equipment is not for commercial purposes.
All items should be for personal use and not for resale.
For more information about our woodworking equipment or our policies, email your questions to maker@mfplibrary.org.
The woodworking equipment may pose a significant and immediate hazard to anyone using it. Meeting with a Makerspace Specialist is required before you can begin working with our equipment.
A Makerspace Specialist can:
identify hazards and other risks to safety,
advise on procedures for mitigating risks,
describe the procedures for handling safety breaches, and
halt the use of equipment when an uncontrolled hazard is identified.
Staff members are not responsible for preventing injuries.
You must use safety equipment appropriate for reducing the risk of hazards, which may include but is not limited to:
Ear protection
Eye protection
Flesh protection
Respiratory protection
You must supply your own material if you want to make something from your own design. These materials are limited to natural wood and wood products unless approved by the Makerspace Specialist.
You can become certified to use the woodworking equipment on your own. Please check the training page for the woodworking equipment for more details. If you are using the woodworking equipment on your own, you are expected to be able to assess the risks on your own and follow safety procedures on your own.
