DIA Club for 5th and 6th Graders meets during snack on Friday in the assembly room, and during lunch on Monday. 7th and 8th Graders, meet on Thursday during lunch. Mr. Stanley is the teacher who organizes DIA. “5th grade is when you start learning about diversity. In 6th grade, you build on that, and start learning about other cultures,” he said, “In 7th and 8th grade, is when you start developing discussions and debates." Overall, DIA is a fun way to learn about the world, while eating food!

The Middle School Instrumental Concert was directed by Mr. Bracchitta. This year the Concert took place at Baker Theatre, on January 10th, 2024. The Concert was played by 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. When asked, Mr. Bracchitta said that his favorite concert was “always the one he was currently working on”. Mr. Bracchitta was most proud of the fact that “all the groups came together and played the songs so well.” His greatest highlight of the concert was directing the jazz band's songs. We are thankful that Mr. Bracchitta spent time with us for the interview and are sad that he is retiring after a very long time at Wick.

Whatever you do during the holidays, whether it be going somewhere or staying home (my personal favorite). You can have fun during this time you can spend with your family and friends.
We at the Wick Word know that you don’t want to be back at school but you have to look on the bright side, you can look forward to spring break, whether it be Easter or Passover, you always have something to look forward to! But enough about things that haven’t happened yet, let’s look at what you’re going to do this year! Are you going to get better grades, work harder, or don’t get as many quick notes or infractions? That may just sound funny but it is true and some people will still think it’s a joke. And in a few weeks you better start studying for exams because they’re closing in faster than you think. Other than that, we can look ahead to summer even though it is a little too far away to look forward to in my opinion but you can look ahead to whatever you want to look forward to. And with that, the Holiday Break Debrief article comes to a close.
