Bonjour! The school Montreal Trip took students from every grade level in the middle school(except for the 7th graders, because they were in Vermont), to see the Eclipse. Mr. Minsky and Mr. Levy, two fan favorites, and Mr. Landsemen were also there. The trip was to see the Eclipse, but there were so many different things planned on the itinerary, that the Eclipse was just one of the many things. Most people say that you have to see an eclipse to fully experience it, and that is totally true. The eclipse works kinda like this:

The moon gets in front of the sun, which makes a cool looking thing.(I don’t know the exact word for it).

Then, there are specific points on Earth, where the view is the best, because you would be perfectly lined up with the moon and sun in that way, and that would be the only way to see totality.

     Monday, April 22, 2024, the day of the earth, when everyone works together to do good for the earth, the day of cheesy poems with rubrics that basically do it for you, and earth gummies. It really isn’t much of a holiday because of those reasons I think that it is not that much of a holiday, and really more of a day. I think we should all celebrate the amazing and beautiful nature and life in the big, wide world that we live in. My favorite thing about the world is definitely the amazing and varying food that each country makes and enjoys for themselves. So recycle your plastic, cardboard, and bottles and enjoy this beautiful world.

    The Middle School Spring Play was a collaboration between Sacred Heart Middle School and Brunswick Middle School. It took place on April 4th and 5th. Mr. Stamey and Mrs. Distini directed the play. The spring play was “Bedtime Stories (As Told By Our Dad) (Who Messed Them Up)”. When asked about his favorite part of the show, Mr. Stamey said, “My favorite part of the show is always the same: the curtain call. I love looking at my students' faces when they are getting their well-deserved applause. It makes it all worthwhile to see the pride on the cast and crew's faces. They get a thrill and a rush that cannot be described, and it is an incredible sight to witness.“ He said that he enjoys working with middle schoolers because “it is a wonderful yet challenging age when students are willing to push themselves out of their comfort zone and try something new, like being on stage or behind the scenes. It is also the first time many of the students are involved in a show, so it is an incredible honor to introduce them to the wonders that being part of an ensemble or show can provide.” Thank you to the cast, crew, and all of the teachers who helped in the production of this amazing show!
