Social Emotional Learning is a BIG part of kindergarten. We learn how to regulate our emotions, solve problems on our own, and recognize emotions in others. This may be the first experience children have with 25+ other children outside of the family. These skills will carry on as they grow older!
We learn how to solve problems on our own, using our words. This helps children communicate how they are feeling, and offering a solution, in an easy to remember way.
"It bugs me when.... I wish you would...".
We learn about how to recognize and work through big emotions. Like when we feel angry or frustrated and feel like our head is going to explode. We learn to recognize and regulate this.
We learn to recognize actions that we can control, and what we can not control.
