Brown alumni are always on the hunt for great books, movies, podcasts, recipes, family activities, etc. Why not give them a way of sharing their ideas on these topics? During this time of social distancing, create a quarantainment list and crowdsource ideas on various topics from your alumni community. Quarantainment lists are a great way of engaging people in a collaborative process that is reflective of the unique character of alumni in your class, region, or affinity group.
Step 1: How to get started
Recruit volunteers to help promote the activity and curate the responses.
Step 2: Decide on entertainment topics and activities that would most interest your group
Invite your volunteer leaders to brainstorm a starter list of topics to include in the quarantainment list. As time goes on, this list can be expanded with recommendations on topics from the broader alumni community.
Take a look at this example quarantainment list.
Step 3: Create a survey form alumni can use to submit ideas
We recommend that all quarantainment lists are curated to ensure the content is aligned with community standards. The easiest way to collect recommendations is through a survey form. Here is a sample Google form for your reference.
Step 4: Decide where your quarantainment list will be shared
You can house these lists on your group website or in a shareable Google document.
Step 5: Promote the quarantainment list
