[ CLASS II ]
BALLOT STATEMENTS
BALLOT STATEMENTS
I am Christian Campos and have had vast experience with organization, public speaking, and finance. My main goals include reaching out to local representatives, organizing one high grossing fundraiser for the school, and making year books more accessible to the lower grades. Count on Campos!
Salvete omnes! I always tell people to live for pleasure because it’s the most human thing to do. It dips into Epicureanism, a Greek philosophy that says the goal of life is happiness and the absence of pain. We may desire this because happiness is often equated to fulfillment, and fulfillment, to a life without regret. High school may feel like an exhaustingly long cycle but there is no banquet in the world that doesn't come to an end. So while you are attendees, allow me the honor of being your host and present you with a most pleasurable experience. A visionary without the means to carry out ideas is simply a daydreamer—I am a dream chaser. I stand to give you the best high school experience within TBLS’ limitations and squeeze out every last drop of amusement and fulfillment so you can feel like the main character in a coming-of-age movie and not graduate with regret. I strive to bring you more social events, spirit days, and cultural celebrations. A vote for me, is a glass raised to your pleasure. Cheers!
The American people chart the course for this country's future. In much the same way, the students of Class II chart the course for the future of this school. To cast a vote is an act of both faith and hope. When we enter our ballots with our votes on November 4th, we do so with the faith and confidence that every person on that ballot will uphold their end of the bargain.
My end of the bargain is this: On behalf of the interests and values of Class II, I will never yield. I will not break. I will never fall back. Too long we have seen dismay within our populace, we have seen disunity, we have seen discontent. It's time for us to send to the Senate somebody who represents who we are as a Class. The people who truly represent the people are elected by the people themselves. Elect me to work for you. Elect me to fight for you. Let me uphold my end of the bargain, and be your voice.
Put your faith and confidence in me, as I put my faith and confidence in all of you.
Vote Long for Class II Senator.
As students of a rigorous highschool, we sometimes forget we can balance education and fun. As a senator, I hope to be more involved in TBLS life by..
1. Addressing the overall interests of our class (club funding, spirit days, field trips, etc.)
2. Creating an environment where students can look forward to school events.
3. Focusing my time on the wellbeing of students.
I recognize that many students have issues with our uniform and budgeting. With this, I hope to urge for more spirit days and school merch: for more freedom in what we can wear. In terms of budgeting, I would work to organize drives where money can go to events and clubs.
To conclude, I would like to circle back to the rigorousness our highschool brings. I recognize that as a class, we sometimes cannot see the positives that school can bring. With me as your senator, we, the students, will be the first priority in terms of wellbeing when considering policies.
