WHAT ARE THE COMMITTEES OF SENATE?
Student Senate is divided up into five different committees who specialize in the various aspects of discipuli life:
Equity
Events
Resource
Wellness
Teaching & Learning

WHO'S IN THE SENATE?
Senators, Tribunes and the Executive Board make up the composition of Senate.
WHAT ARE TRIBUNES?
Tribunes are Senate's class representatives. Customarily, discips, in their homerooms during extended homeroom on NOV 6 , volunteer to represent their class in the senate congress. They give a short speech to their fellow classmates to which two tribunes are voted and selected. Alongside representing their homeroom's voice, Tribunes participate in one of the committees under the leadership of a Senator.
WHAT ARE SENATORS?
Senators are senate's class representative. In early October, discips from each grade have the opportunity to submit a ballot statement to senate for their campaign. They are given a week to campaign and appeal to voters and two senators per class are voted by their respective class discips. Alongside representing their class' voice, Senators co-lead a committee with an executive member.
WHAT IS EXECUTIVE BOARD?
E-Board are at the helm of student senate. Their role is to keep senate organized, well communicated and on track to complete committee projects throughout the school year. E-Board also works with school administration to escalate student concerns and assist the committees in relaying information.
WHAT THE EXECUTIVE BOARD ROLES?
There are roughly six executive board roles:
PUBLIC ADVOCATE is the point person on discipline, respect, fairness, and bias issues in the TBLS community and relays a student perspective to Ms. Glass, Deans and Counselors. The public advocate strives to keep open communication with all affinity groups ASA \\ MSA \\ BSA \\ QSA \\ JSA \\ FSU \\ JEW-SCIPULI \\ LATINE in order to promote inclusivity and a welcoming environment for all.
COMMUNITY LIAISON is the kind face of community communication and organization. The community liaison communicates with students and parents and is the principle manager of the senate Instagram.
SECRETARY is the chief internal organizer of senate; maintaining the calendrer, sending announcements and emails to senate members. The secretary sorts additional logistics (i.e. attendance, meeting minutes, elections, Google classroom, website, etc.) to ensure the flow of senate stays consistent
TREASURER is the Wallet¹ of senate, budgeting and allotting funds to committees. The treasurer manages purchases and inventory, auditing funds once a semester.
VICE PRESIDENTS are the senior leadership of committees, directly interacting with senate members and mentoring senators. Vice - presidents communicate with school administration.
PRESIDENTS are the senior leadership of senate, engaging and encouraging the TBLS community to participate in senate. The presidents also communicate with school administration.
HOW DO I GET INTO EXECUTIVE BOARD?
At the end of the congressional term, Senate members are sent an application form to the executive board. These applicants are interviewed and considered holistically by former junior executives (SEB) for leading in the next term!
