Most colleges have announced that they will remain test-optional for the Class of 2023 admissions cycle. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of the testing policies at the colleges they are applying to and for sending scores to those schools, if applicable.
Fee Waivers are available for the SAT, ACT, and AP exams. In order to determine fee waiver eligibility, students must fill out the school lunch form at the beginning of each school year.
For questions or more information, please see Ms. Novick.
If you have an IEP or 504 and require accommodations and/or extra time on standardized exams, please see Ms. Novick for assistance.
Colleges do not have a preference which exam you take.
If you are not sure, it is recommended that you take a practice test of each exam to compare your results and determine which you feel stronger in and more comfortable with. To compare scores, you can use the SAT/ACT Concordance table.
Community colleges, or 2-year schools, do not require the SAT or ACT.
Students should begin to test during the spring of junior year.
Students can retest later in the Spring and/or in the Fall of senior year.
