Both financial aid and scholarships are available to help students pay for college. The total cost of college - or the "sticker price" - may be higher than the price that you will be asked to pay to attend. Please use the resources available on this website, and always do your research, in order to research the options available at all the schools you are interested in attending.
Need-based aid is financial aid that you can receive based on financial need and other eligibility criteria. Need-based aid is determined based on the cost of attendance and the expected family contribution (EFC). Need-based aid can be offered as grants, scholarships, work-study, and loans. Merit-based aid is financial aid awarded based on a student's achievements. Often this is based on academic achievements, but it can also be based on other factors, such as demonstrated leadership. Often, merit-based aid is offered as a scholarship.
Certain schools are committed to being affordable for all students by providing a combination of grants, scholarships, work-study, and/or loans in order to meet100% of financial need. For a comprehensive list, click here.
