Adobe After Effects

In this session, we were introduced to After Effects and it's layout. We followed an in-app tutorial from Adobe called 'Learn the Basics'.

In this I learnt how to:

• import still images and footage

• start a composition

• click and drag footage into the timeline

• adjust position and length of clips

• create an animated logo (moves position when played)

• create a fade-in

• add a gradual blurred effect to the background

• add an animated moving mirror effect to the background

• render the project

• export the project

In this session, I created a basic ident building off of the previous sessions where we learnt the basics of ident creation. I exported this both as a looped gif and as an mp4. The gif could be useful for use on a website and the mp4 could be used as a YouTube opening sequence. I think the piece is effective and aesthetic as the background is very in line with current dark academia trends.
