Induction Tasks - Halymorpha halys
Task 1
For this task, I had to create a short script based on the following brief:
"The following props: Phone, video camera, rope, ID tag
The following location: BRIT School, Selhurst
Context: Invasion of school
Genre: Sci-fi or thriller
The rest is up to you e.g. characters, resolution, action, dialogue, narrative structure etc."
For this task I decided to create a script about an invasion of stink bugs in the BRIT School.
Task 2
For this task, I had to convert the script I wrote previously into either a dialogue or action script.
Since I had previously written a dialogue based script I converted the script into an action based script.
I found this task interesting as changing the script to an action based one affected the story's narrative viewpoint and the audience was actually given much more information than I was expecting.
After Dinner
Quick task brief:
Create a two page script of two people having a conversation over a table.
After learning the proper formatting and structure of a script, including the key storytelling elements, we were asked to create a short two page script about a conversation between two people were having over a table.
My script is shown to the left, I used celtx to write it as asked by the professor. I based the script as an extended scene from a scene on a script called 'Fireside', which I am co-writing with a friend.
la lune et les étoiles
Quick Task Brief:
Create a script focusing on a main prop.
For this task we were given the following brief for our short script:
Write a two page script that features a designated prop
Use only action to describe your story
Utilise mise-en-scène within your scriptwriting
Plot:
My script 'la lune et les étoiles' follows the character of Cody as he steps into an antique shop and high tension conflict begins to unfold. The script is meant to start touching on the topic of racism and the way media tends to interpret murder from a white person to a person of colour, as well as institutionalised racism in the justice department.
