Firstly, we began this week by working on Scene 19 with the cast.

Did Scene 19

Felt unfulfilled

I didn't have the confidence to say the war line completely.

A line was cut.

I didn't feel like I was acting, but I was reciting the lines more.

My target is to learn all of my lines so that I have the confidence to say all of them.

  • Your role in the process is as an actor – you must write about this.

  • What do you offer to the rehearsal process?

  • What do you need to do better?

  • Set yourself targets – what do you want to achieve in each rehearsal? What might you need to do between rehearsals to prepare? What has your director asked of you?

  • Analyse your contribution to each session and why you are successful/unsuccessful?

  • Take photos in the rehearsal process, include these in the work, annotate them to explain what you have been doing.

  • Film parts of the process and evaluate/analyse your work – edit this together to track part of your process.

What was the aim of the exercise/experiment/ rehearsal? What was successful?

The aim of this rehearsal was to help the company catch up with the work that we hadn't accomplished last week and to give those of us in the scene a chance to work on it. I also wanted this experience to give me time to get the scene into my scene and allow me to start experimenting with my character.

How did the group get on? How could we have improved as a group?

How did you do individually? How could you have improved personally?

Is there anything left unachieved?

Ran the dance.

Started Scene 19.

More lines were cut again.

The Director hasn't bothered to work with me on the scene.

I've realised that the Director shuts down my ideas but doesn't give me any notes to improve.

We worked on Scene 19 with those that have lines.

Feedback from peer:

Glorify those specific words.

Give full energy every time for it to settle into my body.

Take risks with the ideas that I haven't done yet.

Decide on her persona.

Talk about the significance of this case - being the first of its kind.

Talk about the significance of being a female judge - deciding on Hell and Heaven.

Target - to work on my attitude and accept the way rehearsals go.
